Things to remember about my boy...

This post is mostly for me to remember my little boy, just as he is now.

Spencer is 3 years old.

His favorite thing to do lately is pretend he is going to school. Spencer puts his backpack on, his shoes and his hat and tells me, "Bye Mom! I'm going to school now!" He even asks me to pack a sandwich for him in his lunchbox. It just melts my heart!

We have been talking about having a new baby in our family and asking Spencer if he wants a brother or a sister. Spencer tells me that he would like a brother, a sister, and a baby. Hmmm... I'm pretty sure we are not getting all of those right now!

My favorite moments of the day are when Spencer will just spontaneously say, "I love you Mom!" He says it to me quite often. It just doesn't get any better than that.

Spencer loves to sing primary songs. He will sing them in the car or when we are walking down the aisles at the grocery store...sometimes very loudly :).

During those moments of frustration in the car at another "stupid driver," Spencer will sweetly remind me from the backseat, "Mom, we don't say that word!" He just wants to make sure I am practicing what I preach!

Spencer is all about playing baseball. He loves it when he and his dad go outside to throw the baseball. When they come back in, Spencer likes to tell me he made a homerun. He loves going to his Uncle Preston's baseball games. It won't be long before Spencer is out there playing with the big boys...time sure does fly.

I always tell Spencer to stop growing and stay little forever. Sometimes he will say, "Look Mom, I'm growing" as he stands up a little taller and then stands on tiptoes to visibly show me he is getting bigger. When I tell him that he better stop that growing he replies, "I can't stop growing. I have to get bigger."

What a continued joy and blessing Spencer has been in my life. I thank Heavenly Father everyday for giving me the opportunity to be his mother. And while I do wish sometimes that he would stay little forever, I look forward to seeing the amazing young man he will become.
