Thanks to my friend, Amber, who recently shared her 'throwing the paci away' story, I was inspired to try it with Spencer. Spencer has been a devoted paci user since day 1 and this last year has only been allowed to use it while he is in bed.
When I first pitched Spencer on this idea of throwing away his paci in exchange for a new toy, he just laughed at me and said "That's silly!" But the next day he decided he was ready! We made a trip to Target (my favorite place ever!) and Spencer decided on a Buzz Lightyear toy to replace his paci. While he still asks me for his paci everytime he goes to bed, he has accepted the idea that paci is gone. Thanks for the inspiration, Amber!

spencer is adorable. congrats on getting rid of the paci. that is always a tough time. great idea on the toy as a replacement.
